2003
Jensteltä otettua, taas enkuksi:
1. What did you do in 2003 that you’d never done before?
-Lived alone
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next
year?
-I don't make any New Years' resolutions. I did make one for 2004 and didn't
keep it. I didn't do my dishes yesterday (that was the promise :D).
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
-Nope
4. Did anyone close to you die?
-Thankfully no.
5. What countries did you visit?
-Spain (for the 10th time in my life!), Sweden, Denmark, Germany
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
-Self-dicipline
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
-4th of July, I found out that I was accepted to DIEM.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
-Getting into university
9. What was your biggest failure?
-Not doing enough sports in the autumn.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
-I got two moles removed and had the flu a couple of times.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
-My trip to Madrid. Travelling alone <3
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
-Oh god, I don't know. I can't choose any particular person. My dad, he
supported me so much in the spring when I was panicking about getting into
university.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
-Bush. Ew.
14. Where did most of your money go?
-I've no idea. Rent, food, travelling... I haven't calculated yet how much
money I spent on alcohol. I'm not sure I even want to do that.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
-Going into university, moving to live on my own, going to Madrid
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
-I don't know. I could say for instance HYH (of all my readers probably only
Katia knows which song that is), but I have so many older memories about it.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder?
-Definitely happier.
ii. thinner or fatter?
-10 kg fatter. :( I blame my role as Merry.
iii. richer or poorer?
-I'm always broke. Probably poorer, though.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
-Cycling
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
-Spending money
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
-I was with my family. I ate way too much.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
-No
24. What was your favorite TV program?
-E.R., of course.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
-No.
26. What was the best book you read?
-Like water for chocolate (Pöytään ja vuoteeseen) by Laura Esquivel. And now I
don't count all my old favourites that I read again this year.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
-Mariska (easy, it was practically the only one)
28. What did you want and get?
-I got into university, pedalled faster than ever before and got laudatur from
maths. ;)
29. What did you want and not get?
-Eximia from Finnish, but it doesn't really matter anymore.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
-Kuninkaan paluu. And I don't mean Peter Jackson's version.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old?
-I turned 19, cooked some vegetables and made Sacher-cake. Nothing special, but
I really enjoyed the day.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
-Some freetime after the entrance exams. I started to work too soon.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
-I didn't have one. Red colour.
34. What kept you sane?
-Exercizing.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
-Aragorn. By far the sexiest man in literature.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
-All the conversation about how to make students graduate faster from the
university. I think dad agrees on this, I have complained to him so much about
the subject.
37. Who did you miss?
-I guess I've missed all my friends at least at some point during the year.
Especially I miss eating lunch daily with my high school friends in "our
table", and generally not seeing them every day. I've missed Deli so much since
I moved. :( And during Christmas... You know who you are.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
-I can't choose.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003:
-Travelling alone is great.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
hyvää yötä ja huomenta, ehdit myöhemmin nukkua
24 tuntia, toivottavat sulle onnea
hyvää yötä ja huomenta, hei älä vielä luovuta
kaikella on hintansa mut mikään ei oo vielä mahdotonta
- Don Huonot: Hyvää yötä ja huomenta
I actually started to cry in Ruisrock when they played this song.
